Rebecka was born on May 13th, 1981 (she's 24) in Turinge, Sweden to Kristina and Jyrki. Her parents divorced when she was only 1 years old. Her full name is Rebecka Månstråle Liljeberg. Her middle name, Månstråle, is Swedish for Moonbeam. She has 2 sisters, Claudia (19), Åse (14) and 1 brother, Samuel (13). For much of her childhood she moved around Sweden. Rebecka left home at the age of 15 to work in Stockholm.

She got her start in theatre as a child, but made her first appearance in the series, "Sunes jul" as "Sophie (Sofie)" when she was 9. Acting was never her "dream" or "destiny", it was just something fun to do. She doesn't like to be categorized as an "actress". She really wants to be a doctor. Particularly in Children's Medicine. She did some theatre again. Her most popular role to date is "Agnes Ahlberg" in "Fucking Åmål" (AKA, "Show Me Love"). She won the 1999 Guldbagge Award for Best Actress (which she shares with co-star, Alexandra Dahlström). "Fucking Åmål" is the highest grossing Swedish film ever! :) She quit school to be in that movie. Other movies she starred in where, "Sherdil" and "Bear's Kiss". She appeared in 3 episodes of the popular Swedish TV Series, "Eva & Adam" as "Frida" during the last season. She did appear however in 1 episode of the show in the second to last season.

After her role in "Sherdil" she began taking adult education classes in order to graduate school. She completed them in 2002 and is currently (2002-present) studying medicine (Pediatrics) at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, the largest medical university in the world.

Rebecka enjoys working with computers and has worked for a computer firm for some years, but says that she doesn't plan on doing that long-term. She prefers Mac computers over Windows, stating, "Windows is a challenge, because it never works".

She wrote a semi-regular column for the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet for some time. She also contributed to UNESCO's "Utrymme" anthology, containing 20 works from young writers around the world.

She has said that she would not rule out the possibility of acting again if the right role came a long. She's also expressed a desire to work with Lukas Moodysson again.

She now lives in Stockholm with her husband, Alexander Skepp and her 2 children, Theodor (4) and Vera (12 months).
